Project Description

This site was formerly the St Boniface Church in the centre of St Budeaux, Plymouth.  After extensive negotiation with the Local Authority, planning consent was eventually granted for 6 x 3 bedroom houses and 5 x 1 & 2 bedroom apartments, the church having been demolished some years earlier. Given the sites proximity to both main roads and the local schools and library, extensive negations took place both pre and post development and various changes to the design were made following consultation with the adjacent St Boniface Church. This very tight site called for the careful planning of deliveries, with traditional construction techniques being employed together with pre-cast concrete ground and upper floors. A large engineer-designed soakaway provided a sustainable drainage solution beneath the new car park. All units were designed to meet Code for Sustainable Homes, Level 3.
